Program Objectives:

The Maher Accounting program has the following educational objectives:

• To provide students with the tools of accounting practice.
   

• To understand basic business practices and procedures.
   

• To prepare students to have a commitment to quality, timeliness and continuous improvement.

The Objectives of the Maher Accounting program are achieved through a curriculum made up of

courses in the following areas:

2. Basic Courses

ACCT 101 Principles of Accounting I

ACCT 205 Computer Applications in Accounting

ACCT 251 Cost Accounting

3. Summer Internship:

This is a summer internship experience for accounting students. Under the instructor’s supervision,

each student must participate in a structured period of eight weeks in the accounting section in a

selected business organization. The course is designed to provide each student with the necessary

knowledge, technical, and people skills to be successful in an accounting position. The student must

write a report about his summer internship.
